Conference FAQ's
Do I need to sign up ahead of time for the sessions I want to take?
No, you can choose the sessions you want to attend during the conference.
I signed up for a pitch session, but I am not sure how to prepare for it or if I should even be pitching. Do you have any advice?
There is an article on Women On Writing, called How 2 Pitch to an Agent at a Writers Conference by the NCW Director Kerrie Flanagan. Read this and it should answer your questions.
How do I know which agent/editor to pitch to?
On the conference webpage the faculty is listed on the right. Find the section with the agents and editors. If you click on the photo, it will take you to the agent/editor website where you can read more about what they are looking for. You can also click here for a summary of each one. Take some time to look over each of the agents/editors to find the one's that are best suited to your writing. Don't sign up for a pitch session with someone who clearly does not represent your genre.
